I've been working on identifying and better understanding the different segments of the IT business in Greater Philadelphia. There are obviously key technologies, applications, and vertical markets which drive much of the activity here. There are also phrases and acronyms that people use to refer to these things in shorthand. I know it can be confusing to people who are generalists (as I am) or specialize in certain areas, so I thought I'd build a little glossary of terms that seem to be most important here.
Right now it is based on Wikipedia entries, which are good in some cases and not so good in others. If anyone has suggestions on better sources, don't hesitate to let me know. This list will grow over time, though I intend to keep it as targeted to Philadelphia as possible. It will be posted on the right sidebar.
