Could Google Acquisition Plans Have Local Angle?

Google's Eric Schmidt recently indicated his company is on the prowl for acquisitions again. According to All Things Digital, sources say right now Google is focusing on small start-ups in the online advertising and cloud computing arenas.
AdExchanger.com suggests that two companies that could make sense for Google in the online advertising space are Philadelphia's Invite Media (originally backed by First Round Capital) and New York-based MediaMath, in which Safeguard Scientifics recently lead a $10 million venture round.
