I still don't really get GSI Commerce, even though they have a lot of smart people working for them and apparently make some
clients very happy. It just seems they always have to put more "assets in the ground" (distribution and call centers) and there is not too much in the way of economies of scale and leverage in what they are doing. They try to present themselves as a "mini Amazon", but Amazon has a very strong brand and web presence and proprietary platforms that reach a vast market. End users really don't know what GSI is. The current economic environment probably won't help them in achieving profitability
for a while.
