Oracle's Acquisition Strategy

The Wall Street Journal today ran an interesting piece on Oracle's acquisition strategy, and how it continues to acquire in the midst of the current economic downturn. Oracle's stock has held up well and that gives them an excellent currency to use in what is a buyer's market. Oracle's efforts are described as being targeted primarily toward strengthening its competitive position versus SAP in the enterprise application market.
Of local note, the article gives an acquisition price for Chester-based AdminServer: $100 million plus incentives. The insurance software company was estimated to be generating about $40 million in annual revenues. No price is available yet on the Primavera Systems acquisition.
